History

On January 23, 1933, UECU opened its doors for business as the Wilson & Company Albert Lea Employees Credit Union. They recognized the dire need for reasonable, well-priced financial services for a large number of employees and family members.

In the early 1980's UECU began to expand the field of membership to include other employee groups and in 1984 the name was changed to "United Employees Credit Union". UECU became a community credit union in 2003 and now serves the communities of Freeborn and Mower Counties with a wide range of financial products and services.
